These membranes consist of products such as custom building products redgard and laticrete s hydrobarrier and hydroban and mapei s aquadefense. Before installing redgard make sure any exterior or wet areas have properly angled floors that slope to drains.

Using redgard under floor and wall tile will create a barrier that will be undisturbed after the tile is installed and grouted. Suited for interior and exterior substrates redgard creates a continuous waterproof membrane barrier with outstanding adhesion and reduces crack transmission in tile and stone floors. Redgard is tough enough to be used as a shower pan liner. You can apply redgard to concrete cement backerboard exterior grade plywood and exterior decks.

Redgard over shower pan i have used the easy mat in two different forms the peel and stick for concrete floors ie. Suitable for use in residential and commercial tile and stone installations. However if you live in a particularly cold or warm environment with high humidity levels expect drying to take upwards of 12 or more hours. In optional conditions the redgard show waterproofing system dries in 1 2 hours.
